The Universe is Glass

by Timothy   May 14, 2025

You may have to squint,
Better be pretty hell-bent;
A little closer reflection,
And a stellar electron microscope in perfection.

A large group, against a much more massive existence,
Diatoms are family of massive resilience;
But what if carbon in truth wains to silicon,
In small quantities here, but in all Reality 28 is well beyond?

A living algae, only Earth creatures considered a rock,
Don't seem to thrive in our ironic "cellblock";
The wordplay aside, there seems an empty universe,
Are we alone, an extensive prison, God's curse?

But 1891 Julius Scheiner did declare,
Silicon life can survive 2570 degrees without an impair;
Exoplanets like ours's are few and far between,
It's frigid, it's fiery, it's far from green.

Without oxygen, all Earth dies,
But in some worlds, that's how life survives!
Carbon-based lifeforms, you share 90% of your DNA with an African tree,
Something the Baobab sees you as hyperbole.

It may seem empty, this vast space with "dead" orbs,
But the lack of carbon will give them greater rewards;
And the minute, and the limited Earth class,
In the end...the universe is glass.
