Be first in plans of a wiseman, though last in schemes of fools.
Don't take crook'd paths that stand before you, which use a lawless tool.
Take the path that's hedged by briars of pain, rocky sometimes steep.
But more often flanked with blooms of joy, to stir the soul a deep.
Listen truly to your ownself but then heed what others may say.
For each will help your journey, as you tread upon life's way.
So beware those who false praise you, as a lie will show in time.
And the hurt of what was once thought true, is a hard forgiven crime.
Do not be fickle with self importance, nurse the merit of your worth.
Try to aid your fellow beings, we are all of this fair earth.
Take through your days these words and hold their meaning with true mind.
As wisdom will be your reward, with it's lasting peace to find.
