The Warnings You Ignored

by Jay Colon   Aug 12, 2025

I tried to tell you.
I screamed.
Physically.
Verbally.
Even silently.

It was loud and clear.

I told you
He is psycho.
Something is wrong with him.
He isn’t safe to be around.

All the dark signs were there,
showing you he wants us dead.

He was on the prowl
like a lion stalking its prey,
ready to strike,
Ready to take you out.

At first, he hid his sickness
behind closed doors.
But he learned
He learned the best ways to manipulate
anyone in his path.

He used his charm,
his smile,
His knowledge of construction,
to make people think he meant well.

But the plot was thickening.

He wanted you gone.
He wanted to erase you
like COVID-19 wiping out cities.
Take everything you represent,
while pulling your strings
Like you were his puppet.

But you couldn’t see it.
You wouldn’t.

Because you are just as mentally unstable
If you believe
Someone with schizophrenia
can live without medication.

It wasn’t enough to ignore the warnings.
The premeditated act
to end your life
wasn’t just about the knife.
It wasn’t just about the threat.

It was about the intent
The cold, calculated desire
to make sure
You never took another breath.
