Ink & Canvas

You know they're kind of the same
both like art,
just in different mediums.

When you show up with new lines
and dark ink
everyone wants to know
how bad it hurt and
tell you how gorgeous it is.

But if I make illustrations on my skin
with blood instead,
it's not beauty -
it's just horror. No one says
it's pretty
and no one praises my pain tolerance.

Honestly if it wasn't a social disaster
I'd draw all sorts of things.

But turns out, it matters what
you use to sketch.
