The World I Inherit

by BOB GALLO   Jan 31, 2026

When someone is better than me,
I feel happy,
for I love betterment more than myself,
selfish enough
to recognize my truest self.

You,
worshiping you,
loving you,
are all more loving me
than loving me.

I learned:
the world I create through my acts
is the world of my destiny,
where every choice
less than fair
becomes a home
I must inhabit forever.

When someone is better than me,
I rejoice,
because I inherit that world.

I unleash betterment through it,
and betterment
unleashes me
in corespondence.
