I remember lights when I first emerged from the sea
Embryonic and fragile, the first breath to being free
Contained in this form the years passed me by
Prized as a vessel, but unable to provide
One day the currents took me to a place where it all began
I found myself on the precipice of where sea meets land
I breathed in the salty air and the wind revived my soul
I let go of all that was safe and all I had known
And now I give myself to the river, infintessimal as I am
Hoping to find myself on the shores of distant lands
Beams of light guiding me away from rocky shores
Hoping someday soon, I will be yours
