I Will Not Fix Your Ruins

by Golden AnGel Rhapsodist   May 1, 2026

~*°*~
I will not fix your ruins,
nor gather what you break,
I am not here to carry
the weight you never take.

~*°*~
What I allowed before
became what I received,
a silent kind of suffering
I never meant to believe.

~*°*~
Each time I stayed too long
when something felt untrue,
I slowly lost my light
trying to shine for you.

~*°*~
You learned my heart was patient,
that I would always stay,
even when your love
kept slipping far away.

~*°*~
But love is not a burden,
nor something torn apart,
it should not leave you empty
while holding someone’s heart.

~*°*~
I have learned
through silence and ache,
love shouldn’t shatter
the soul it should wake.

~*°*~
So I will choose my distance,
I will reclaim my light,
no more dimming who I am
just to make you right.

~*°*~
And if I must walk
this path on my own,
I’d rather feel whole
than unloved and unknown.

~*°*~
For I would rather stand alone
than beg for what is true,
I will not fix your ruins
I will rebuild me, not you.
