Second hand

Always finding things out second hand
Yet you say you tell me everything and I should understand
But you only actually tell me
Only what you want me to know.

And what do I actually know?
More importantly, what don't I know?
Because what is real doesn't always show
And what is fact, isn't always said
It's just conveniently forgotten instead.

It's apparent, we are not as it seems
You hide things and make me feel like I'm paranoid
Make me feel it's all in my head
Yet you are the one not standing by what you said
When "Everything" actually only means certain things
Things found out from others, This is what stings
This is what stabs, straight to the heart
When things are shadows and curtains that don't part.

So I'm left with only half of the truth
And you don't tell me "everything" and this is more proof
And you can switch your phone off or have nothing to say
But it doesn't make the "everything" lie go away.
