“Say Yes, I miss you.”

by Beautiful Tragedy   Jun 7, 2026

“Say yes, I miss you.” I’d said-
Trying to convince you to meet me at the pool with the kids,
But your Saturday was booked this week with your parents.
And I think you’d wanted to make it over;
Sleep hates us both lately and you’re dealing with job stuff,
I miss my dad and wanted a hug.
But before I knew it I was spending my Saturday morning laughing rather than missing you;
“The spikes might be a little crazy but could be fun.” You’d said-
And jokes of scientific sundress activity experiments I’d conducted at the creek became one of my favorite moments with you.
You always meet me in the most unhinged parts of my humor and-
It’s such a beautiful thing,
To be seen by you.
To feel loved by you.
“Say yes, I miss you.” I’d said-
And then you spent the first half of your busy Saturday making me forget that I missed you in the first place.
