Fused to you

by Beautiful Tragedy   Jul 4, 2026

Something inside of my body fused to you.
Thursday night giggles echoed against the four walls of my bedroom;
the dog whining at the door,
Unhappy that he wasn’t invited in with us.
And the stairs creaked on our way up-
Two sets of footsteps and one set of paws quickly behind,
Your hand fit into mine like it was personally made for it.
No gentler hands had ever touched my body before you.
Your breath whispered against my neck as my fingertips made home in your shoulder blade-
Lips met with the silent trust that nothing capable of hurting me would ever leave them,
I nuzzled my face into the crook of your collarbone before my brain even caught up.
I’d never been this vulnerable with anyone.
And I suppose I hadn’t been expecting it-
It clicked like a puzzle piece in the very depths of my soul,
A soft calm rolling over my nervous system so gently it was foreign enough that
I wondered if it was what authors talked about in books.
The kind of tether that exists long before either person realizes it’s there.
Something inside of my soul fused to you-
long before either of us knew to call it love.
