There is an inexplicable longing
that quietly lives within me,
while my eyes overflow with tears
for a grief I cannot name.
Though we met,
you remained a love
I could never truly have.
Tell me, was it my fault
that I loved you?
Tell me the truth,
for I can no longer hide this pain.
Even when you were beside me,
somehow, you felt distant-
like a presence my heart could touch,
but never hold.
Love was something
I had searched for and never found,
until I found it in you.
And yet, my beloved,
you became the very wound
that taught me how deeply
a heart can hurt.
How can I possibly say farewell
to everything we were,
when my heart refuses to let you go?
How can I erase your name
when it is written
into the deepest corners of me?
How can I forget your memories
when they are all that remain?
I found love in you,
yet you remained distant.
And in this story of love,
I was the one who lost.
I never imagined
this would be my fate-
to have my heart break
again and again
each time I remember you.
And this poor heart of mine,
though wounded beyond words,
still remains devoted to you.
This love I carry
is an affliction without a cure,
a beautiful sorrow
I cannot escape.
If only I could tell you
how much I love you,
how much I miss you-
perhaps then you would understand
the silence behind my eyes.
My eyes wander
through the memories of the past,
revisiting every moment
I wish I could relive.
And somewhere between
those memories and dreams,
I became utterly lovestruck-
lost in the thought of you.
The thought of living
without you beside me
has driven my heart to madness.
And now, whatever remains of me,
whatever is left
after all this love and longing,
is nothing but, your memory.
