A Thousand Miles of Silence!!!

by The Fallen Angel   Sep 22, 2025

I miss you—
and the air forgets how to move in my lungs.
Each breath stumbles,
as though a stone has settled deep upon my chest,
pressing, reminding, refusing to lift.

The silence you leave behind
is heavier than sound,
and I carry it inside me,
aching,
as though my ribs are not strong enough
to hold the emptiness where you should be.

The world continues, unbothered—
the sun burns,
the night folds its dark wings,
but inside me,
a silence grows louder than any storm.
It presses against my chest,
it whispers through my bones,
it asks me why you are not here.

Then I remember you and me—
even though our destinies are intertwined,
we are a thousand miles apart in this lifetime.
You are like the star in the sky,
burning with brilliance, guiding me still,
yet always just beyond my reach.

And so I breathe in fragments,
as if the air carries only pieces of you.
My heart beats with a hollow echo,
a rhythm waiting to be made whole.
Until the day our paths cross again,
I will ache under this distance,
loving you in silence,
and longing for the breath
that only your nearness can give.
