Once Bitten

by Cantchangeme   Sep 17, 2026

My teeth feel loose in my mouth
And I’m wondering what could be wrong
Waiting for the shape to catch me
I know it won’t be long

In the night petrified I can’t move at all
I try but I can’t speak, I can’t shout
There’s someone in the house
And I’m helpless, can’t get out

The lid slams shut on this wooden box
Where you put your forgotten things
I can hear the rain start to seep in
Didn’t bring my water wings

I seek but I can’t find you
I think I’m dying lost here and alone
I watch the spiders come to claim me
Webs and bite marks skin and bone
