Locked in this Storm

by The Forgotten Monster   Oct 13, 2026

This storm is endless, the clouds warn me to beware
and yet lightning flashes as if laughing at my despair

Locked in my own prison on this open road
Hearing it's in your head begins to get old

I ask myself "When does it stop?" Or "will it ever end?"
I do my best not to break, but it still hurts when I bend

It's never as simple as just simply letting go
Sometimes, the honest answer is "I don't know."

Now, I'm lost in thought and trapped in my mind
And suddenly, patience seems very hard to find

I will let this storm rage, let this thunder crack
As my train of thought begins to fall off the track

So I'll scream until I hear the voice of God
Standing in this storm holding a lighting rod
