Lying To Ourselves- true

by **Just Her**   Jul 19, 2004

We’ll try to get through it
Tell each other it’s okay
But as the clock ticks
We fear another day

We’ll lie to one another
Living in denial and stress
And no matter how hard we try
We never can rid this mess

We’ll sink in our own thoughts
And listen to our hearts cry out
How long can we lock ourselves away
When will we live without doubt

The world we thought we could trust
The people we thought cared
Suddenly gave us no reason to believe
That anyone is really there

Trying to push our problems away
Hoping that if we forgot, we’d forget
But reliving the same thing everyday
Remembering our own world of torment

When we look into the eyes of each other
It’s like looking through eyes of glass
We fear what’s behind the lies
Each trying to forget they’re past

In the end we realize that our friends
Are the closest people to real
Staring into they’re eyes proves
They’re the only ones who know how we feel
