How Can I?

by Corey Gentry   Jul 20, 2004

How can I?
When will I?
Why don’t I?
Why can’t I?

Make you happy
Return your smile
Mend you broken heart
Run the hundreds of miles

To Indiana
to where you are
To have you here
Near or far

How can I?
When will I?
Why don’t I?
Why can’t I?

Make things right
How they’re supposed to be
How they were that night
In that hellishly cold R.V.

I want you there
One more time, in my embrace
I see you there
Your eyes, your lips, your beautiful face

How can I?
When will I?
Why don’t I?
Why can’t I?

Make you mine again?

Okay, this took, like, 3 minutes.. I just finished.. I felt like writing which isn’t like me.. But.. Oh well.. This is how it all came out.. I wrote this after reading some poems from an amazing young lady named Alex.. http://www.poems-and-quotes.com/author.html?id=30125 .. This poem happens to be about her.. I hope she doesn’t mind me putting her name in here but.. Yeah.. Our story can be read through her poems.. How much of a bastard I was.. All the pain I put her through.. And yeah.. It’s kind of a corny little thing if ya think about it, but oh well.. There ya go, ladies and gentlemen, have a good time..
