For Which I Die

by Corey Gentry   Jul 25, 2005

Is this the face
That first caught my eye
Is that the soul
That for which I’d die

Are you the girl
That I have always adored
Are those the eyes
That from which tears pored

For a love that was stolen
By me from us
I was the reason for that pain
This I can confess

But even now
After the time has passed
The torture never leaves
It can come back so fast

And I can remember
The way I held your hands
Kissed away the pain
And asked you to understand

That I’ve made mistakes before
Mistakes that resound in my head
Along with the memory
Of every word you’ve ever said

But the point
Of which I’m trying to show
Is that I love you
This I’ll always know

But I’ll remain here
Watching day turn into night
In the darkness, I’ll remember
The love I felt at first sight
For

The face
That I saw crying
The soul
For which I’m dying
