Second chance in life(true story)

by Walter F Alvarado   Jul 28, 2004

*This poem of my life is dedicated to the kids that have cancer, and to the people who dont appreciate life as it is*

When i was born in to this world my family was really happy. Not knowing what was coming up ahead. It was a normal day , i was 3 years old, my left leg started hurting, i started to cry in pain, my parents took me to the doctor. the doctor checked me up.My parents were ignoring what was coming up ahead, it hit them like a stone, when they diagnosed me with leukemia. The doctor said i was gonna die. My parents not giving up hope, grab there stuff and took off, not knowing if i was gonna die, we came to Chicago, i was immediately put in the hospital, i was in a hospital for 2yrs, fighting for my life, with the chemotherapy. my parents thought there baby boy that was born one day was goning to die at age of 3 in a couple of days, ,but God had a plan for me all along. At the age of six the leukemia was out of my body, i have been a cancer survivor for the last 11years of my life.Ive been given a wonderful present a second chance in life.

this is why i write so people could appreciate life one day at a time, and to give hope to the people who need it.
