A Clearing

by Rose   Jul 29, 2004

Sitting in a clearing
lighted, free from pain
I wonder if life's trauma
would raid my world again
Basking in the sunlight
Let light flush through my veins
In hopes I won't trip backwards
and loose all that I gained.
The one wrong step: I take it,
with blackness my life distains,
Amidst the falling back wards
The light out of me drains.
