Birthday Friend

by Cassie Morris   Jul 29, 2004

This is late I know,
But I missed the last count.
And I wanted to say something
So you wont be left out.

You're different,
A greater friend than most.
One of many factors
of why we're so close.

Sometimes life is hard,
Makes you feel like shit.
Has you right under its thumb,
Makes you want to quit.

But the bad
Cant exist without the good.
You have me to lean on
When things get worse than they should.

When others walk out,
I'll walk in.
I'll be there with you always,
Through thick and through thin.

Gems are precious,
But friends like you have no price.
And for you,
I would go through hell twice.

So, my old head bagin' friend,
I wish you a happy birthday.
I want you to know that I'll be
Your light when others stray.

There's hope for a new day,
That comes in the rising of the sun.
Look too it and keep the faith.
Happy Birthday Jaron
