In My Heart

by Timothy   Aug 4, 2004

I wandered so long, shrinking from the slightest touch,
A cold, bleak, hardened heart;
I promised myself if I kept it closed,
It would never get ripped apart.

A barrier kept me safe from the world,
No one was getting in, not a one;
A shadow fell over my emotion,
And i hid from the sun.

Then i met someone I once knew,
And slowly, I'm not afraid of the light;
She helped me find my smile,
It's there when she is in my sight.

The water is once again fresh,
The flowers, they do bloom;
The dismay has now vacated,
And in my heart...there is now room.
