As you lay sleeping peacefully,
i awoke from a soul destroying nightmare,
my heart lay broken in pieces on the floor,
because you told me no longer did you care.
the words you used were full of hatred,
slashing my heart with forceful meaning,
each one driving the knife deeper,
as the the blood started to flow my body lost all feeling.
my cheeks were set on fire,
as the tears burned paths of love,
you were my haven of solace and safety,
my olive branch carried by the dove.
as each second passed i grew weaker,
barely feeling as if i were alive,
my only light and reason for living,
was leaving me alone to try and survive.
you kissed me for the last time,
and the love i felt was when two souls collide,
but as the distance between us grew bigger,
so did the hole which i would have to carry around inside.
so this girl fell soundly and silently back to sleep,
thinking dreams are dreams and don\'t matter,
but it was just a taster of what would happen the next day,
as she would witness her mind, heart, body and soul shatter.
