A Flower Sits To Drink The Sun

by Nici   Aug 7, 2004

A flower sits to drink the sun
Seeking all its rays
It opens up each tiny petal
All through the summer days

A flower sleeps under the moon
To hide itself from night
The petals close, one by one
Back to a bud so tight

A flower then is picked
By a human hand
Torn up from the ground
Placed in a vase to stand

A flower then lies in the vase
To dwell in its new home
Leaning towards the sun
And flower on its own

A flower brings so much joy
Both in and out the ground
It lives for only a short time
Yet its happiness is found
