Please God, Don't Take Gamma

by Sherry Lynn   Aug 15, 2004

My phone rang at 9:17 am
I couldn’t believe my ears,
My heart just dropped,
As my eyes filled with tears.

Your grandma back in the hospital,
That’s what mamma said,
Try not to worry,
But they have placed her in ICU.

More heart surgery,
Yes I know, she just came home.
And not to scare you more love,
But it was all because of her thyroid.

I can’t believe this,
My heart has just sunk,
I can’t stop the tears,
And for some reason,
Now I tremble with fear.

It’s not like last time,
I can’t say why,
But now I’m scared,
I don’t want gamma to die.

Please God, hear my prayers,
Help my gamma,
Help her survive.
She’s a lady of gold,
And it’s her hand that mommy now holds.

Please God, don’t take her home,
Not just yet,
Our family still needs her here,
We all need gamma to survive!
Please God, don’t take her tonight.
