From And Inside The Heart

by Brad Champagne   Aug 20, 2004

Looking through the cold abyss at a loving smile none could miss,
Searching for a love, a friend, a companion to my end.
Forces fighting head to head, an epic battle it is said;
Reliance on familiar things, avoiding pain from changes sting..
Outward strength, unfeeling dead; inside emptiness instead
Of kindness, a hole it's true, an empty heart for only you.
From the depths of understanding comes no proof of strength in banding,
Though I know it must be true, for my heart yet calls to you.
Careful in the ways of feelings, ever sensitive and reeling,
Anyone can plainly see, ever only for you I'll be.
Seeking comfort in fulfillment, waiting now to supplement
Someone like me, in unkept hours, whom a lady seldom bothers.
Inward pushing all emotion,now supressing life's due motion,
Elevating walls around where again a shattered heart is found.
