Real guys

Why cant things be,
like they are in the movies?
hearts are always okay in the end,
tender hearts like these.

they make it look so easy,
like anyone can do it.
i didn't know different until now,
i didn't know until i went through it.

real guys aren't so nice,
real guys aren't so sweet,
real guys don't always say things,
to sweep you off your feet.

real guys don't go out of their way,
to call you on the phone.
real guys don't really care,
if you sit at home alone.

but real guys are actors too,
even though they don't get paid,
real guys will act like they love you,
just to make sure they get laid.
