What I Am

by Matthew Lee   Aug 30, 2004

What I am,
Is just a friend
That's all I can be,
To many in the end

It's hard being me,
Holding back feelings
To keep from trouble,
Of all my life's dealings

To cope with my life,
I try to help others
To ease the suffering,
From depressed clutters

Carrying their burden,
Upon my shoulders
To save them from harm,
From life's falling boulders

Every day I ponder,
On how it is to feel
While carrying many burdens,
Numbness is the only deal

But still holding strong,
With my reasons unknown,
Even though with friends,
I am alone
