Your undying smile(terza rima sonnet)

by Megha   Aug 30, 2004

This form of poetry has an 11 count syllable each line and a rhyme scheme of aba bcb cdc ded ee

your sweet, joyous ,undying smile,
lights up your face and brings out your eyes,
spreads happiness and warmth for miles and miles.

looking at you, time stops, and forgets that it flies,
your heart is so pure,so true,
free from any bond, free from all ties.

no troubles,of the big bad world you have no clue,
lost in your enchanting world of love,
where of pain or sorrow no one ever knew.

pristine,untouched,clear white as the dove,
your world so serene and divine,
your home in the beautiful heavens above.

those twinkling eyes of yours so brightly shine,
your sweet,joyous undying smile benign.

this poem is dedicated to my little cousin Gayatri...she passed away when she was 3 years old...

  • I am sorry for the loss. This is a very well written poem. It had lotz of descriptive words which enhanced the grace. Tight poem.
