Blindfold

by John   Sep 2, 2004

When I look, but cannot see,
I’m not quite sure what to be,
Where to go or what to do,
Who to believe and what is true.
When I can see but still can’t look,
I am the chef, but still can’t cook.

I spin in circles and wind up lost,
Try to see at all costs.
I’m trying to find out who I am,
Is my life true or is it a sham.
When I am here but still not there,
I have no worries and no cares.

I still can’t see but I’m not blind,
I’m in the past, I can’t put behind.
I want to see, but don’t know how,
Give me back my life, right here right now.
I only wish that I could see,
So take this blindfold off of me.
