Late Nights

by Sherry Lynn   Sep 4, 2004

It is after one in the morning.
I failed to be in bed
By eleven o’clock
Yet once again.

These late nights
And early mornings
Are wearing me thin,
But I am to stubborn to quit,
I refuse to give in.

My eyes are now black,
Dark circles lye underneath.
I think I found a new meaning
To the phrase
Push it to the extreme.

I need to rest,
But there is too much to do.
I must write in this journal,
And study my algebra, too.

I will be in bed by four,
Then by six thirty, I’ll be out the door.
Driving a bus, going to school,
All while being a mother to four.
There’s no time for me to take on more.

Gotta blaze now; time to jet.
Oh, hell with algebra,
I’m going to bed.

I loved the ending! Makes me think about myself staying up late to do homework. I hate algebra homework. Nice job. I loved it.
