Do You Believe In Cowardly Lions

by Megan Scaggs   Sep 6, 2004

A tornado came and took her away,
Lifted her high above the clouds.
She came to rest somewhere over the rainbow,
Surrounded by a munchkin crowd.

They began to sing, as they danced to and fro,
Grateful for what she'd done, they said.
Joyfully singing the same melody,
Oh ho the wicked witch is dead!

She was told to follow the yellow brick road,
With ruby slippers on her feet.
It would take her to the emerald city,
Where a great wizard she would meet.

Along the way she met three unlikely friends,
And they would help her in her cause.
Together they defeated a wicked witch,
And unmasked the Wizard of OZ.

By clicking her heels, saying there's no place like home,
She was back in Kansas once more.
She told them she'd dreamed of a magical place,
With witches and munchkins galore.

She said, do you believe in cowardly lions,
Scarecrows who dance or tin men that cry?
I met them all somewhere over the rainbow,
In a place where even birds can't fly.
