Changing World

by Jacki   Sep 7, 2004

In the mountains,
in a far away land.
Lived a little Ole hermit
and his dog Sam.
The land was emerald green,
lush with beauty.
Their were no city streets
or lights that lite up the town.
No malls or businesses
in the hermits land you see.
Just the sweet serenity
of the lovely trees.
Hidden in the forest,
the hermit and his dog.
Fishing in the ponds and
catching animals to survive.
Made his clothes out of deer hides.
Made his home out of his surroundings.
Never needed to leave to go
to those city towns.
Everything was wonderful.
Until the city came a knocking.
His emerald forest
was no more.
They filled in his pond,
so no fish he could catch.
The sweet serenity was dead.
A world unknown to the little Ole
hermit and his dog Sam.
Eventually one day they both
slipped away for the city
had burned down there home.
In replace where they once lived
a grocery store now sits.

You are all about the story-poems today. Definitely a little sadness in your life now, I suspect.
