Silent Veil

by Brandon Evans   Sep 8, 2004

Into the distance
The sun, I watch set
Night paints the sky
This day, I'll soon forget

Basking in the moonlight
Shedding qualms of dejection
Darkness hides anxiety
Shadows give protection

You ran to me, my open arms
Like always, so insecure...
I was your strength and will to live
Your confidence, I would assure

Conviction, given unto me
Vigor, meant never to falter
My weaknesses often bled right through
But perceptions, would you alter

As sun starts to rise, I run from you
Forcing to leave your embrace
Fables of hope, often better than truth
Dreams don't comprise of a tear-stained face...
