A Thousand Tears

by Katherine A Lee   Sep 9, 2004

Within every year of one's lifetime we cry a thousand tears

Some from Heartbreak some from Fears

Happiness and Joy fill the rest

All putting our hearts to the ultimate test

A thousand tears, to most seems like too many

To the rest, a thousand tears will drown a thousand pennies

Its more like a million, some would say

Though for that to be true, I would have to cry every day

A tear is a strange and yet so common a thing to see on the faces of many

Into despair, the thought of running out has sent me

Even deeper is the look in a particular persons eyes

The look of no despair, anger, or lies

A thousand tears I could only hope to have cried

In this persons eyes, a tear of joy I see, much to my demise

Over me I would wish upon you not to be sad

For only your heart for my life I wish I had

So a thousand tears for you I shall cry

And pray not for the day when you die
