Birthday Gift

by Brad Champagne   Sep 12, 2004

As passing days turn into years,
Times of laughter, times of tears
Are planted deep within the mind
Until is spent one's precious time.

The celebration of your birth
Should loud resound through all the earth.
A life as beautiful as thine
Must from heaven be a sign.

A card is sent, a simple jest,
But presents, gifts, are surely best.
None that I find upon this earth
Could ever match my love, your worth.

Instead of store bought, common things
I send to you on angel's wings
My love for you, my strength, my will
Until, alas, my voice is still.

I send my life, my mind, my soul
To you for to be made whole.
Through God's perfect, endless grace
I'd walk the world to see your face.

On this very special day
To you I give my heart away.
Evermore to you my love
I'll sing
Until a silence death may bring.

My gift is love forevermore
And out for you my feelings pour.
I can humbly, truly say,
"I love you more each passing day."
