Questions of War

by Unseen Exposure   Sep 18, 2004

Another lie told, another heart broken,
Another one dies, words left unspoken,
Will the world ever realize?

Fighting for freedom with all but a gun,
The killing drags on, the real reason shunned,
When will we learn?

Our family, friends, neighbors- devoted to war,
We hope to succeed, though many unsure,
Why do we keep on going?

A simple attack- a complicated ending,
People alone, seams left to be mending,
What more can we do?

Panic and fear always growing among us,
The names read out in a silent hush,
How did we let it get this far?

Now we understand, some knew all along,
Standing more united, loud grows the song,
It's just another mistake in the history books ...

^ I wrote that in the beginning of the war the year after September 11th, so it's sort of old. Enjoy ...
