You'll Always Be There

by Ben   Sep 19, 2004

It was a hot and muggy
A shit Ole day
When I got the call
That I had to stay
I wondered why
I could not go home
I sat there thinking
Sat all alone
When my folks walked in
I knew something was up
The look on dads face
Made me turn in the gut
We walked outside
And suddenly I knew
That in my life
I no longer had you
We went to the hospital
And waited for you
And when you came
You were covered in blue
They unzipped that bag
And put you in place
They got a spare sheet
And covered your face
Then we were told
We could go say goodbye
The long walk there
Made me want to die
When we went in the room
You were lying there
Your body was still warm
But so cold was the air
I saw you move
But I knew it wasn't real
I started to see
The pain I did feel
As a tear fell silently
From my eye
I looked at dad
And I asked him why
There was nothing to be done
She died straight away
And all I can do now
Is look at where you lay
I never thought
That I'd have to say this
But now you're gone
I miss you sis
It was then that we learnt
That Mick was gone too
I said to him mate
Kel's waiting for you…
Then I woke up this morning
And looked out the door
I realised I don't want
This pain anymore
You've left us now
Been gone for a while
I'm starting to forget
Who you where, your smile
Remembering the little things
Is getting hard
Cos I'm trying to heal
The pain and the scar
But I know that even though
We are now apart
You will always be there
Deep in my heart

I wrote this poem for my sister Kelly, its about the day she left me and yeh. Please tell me what you think. thanks
