What comes next?

by Mustardhart   Sep 29, 2004

There is a distant cry
Thunder echoing through the veiled sky
Thick as mist

The moaning of the fallen
Swords in battle crash as cymbal
Flesh spew, blood spilled rising high, as in sacrifice

Could see the agony, the pain
The cry of the defeated
Vengence, screams of excitement from the victor

Feet in triumph, galloping towards another feat
A quest that rages and goes on
A thirst that?s been here for ages

By their millions they die
Fallen to rise no more
Fallen by the road side, on the plains

In the valley where no flesh dwell
The captives of this wining army
Are bound for a lifetime bond

Oaths taken that cost him his side
Requires nothing short of victory
Full of fun, excitement and vengeance

To accomplish what since creation has been awaited
Headlong galloping into each other
The crash of shields and helmets

The flash of blades, like blinding lightening
As they come full face with hostility
It thundered again and the earth groans

Blood flowed, the ransom required
The heart that once gave life, now destroys
In justice, vengeance and victory

Can't see through the cutting edge
To behold is sinister
The sights a fly by canister

Makes the heart wary
Rising high against the wind
Destructive as point nine tornados

Spear to spear, sword to sword
Blades radiating in the heat of the sunset
Confused noise, confused sounds

The trumpet calls, the cavalry galloped
Victory must be, glory awaits
In rising and falling

Each day we face this truce
And constantly my plea is to win
The decider is the heart within

And the courage I can put up
Against the odds and realities
I battle to conquer each day.
