Heart vs. Head

by Rebecca Lynn   Oct 13, 2004

I am so afraid.

Afraid of you. But, even more afraid of me.

As I sit in my room, I long for something more...
More than I have.

I crave it. I loathe it. I need it.

It brings me so much joy just to see your face,
But is it you or the fantasy that I am reaching for?

I am afraid.

Of what I feel,
Because it is also what I fear.

Oh how I long to hold you,
But only when you are miles away.
So that my heart is safe for one more glorious
(pitifully lonely) day!

One Heart For Sale:
Please claim it...
Before my head has a say.

I liked this poem. I've had this happen to me too. Head battling with heart is one of the toughest things you could go through.
