Lies and loss

by kel   Oct 13, 2004

Two shadows standing on the corner,
Moods are dark and black.
Walking down the street wanting to attack.

We creep up the road
We’re upset, shoulders weighed by a heavy load
Anger set in our face
See the unhappiness in our stance and pace.

At the park I break into tears,
While the other whispers my fears.
He tears out my heart
With the words “what we have cannot go on, I’m leaving soon, there is no love.”
Oh what a lie.
I fall to my hands and knees
Tears still streaming down my cheeks
I see on his face a tear start to leak.

See the guilt in his eyes,
Like the world has just died.
I want to understand how? Or why?
But words choke in my throat,
Like never before.

I saw in his eyes that it’s all a lie.
We give each one last kiss,
Then he whispers “for now it’s over, with no love but I’ll be back, to make it soar high”,
And for sure, that is no lie.
