Anywhere But There

by stephalee   Oct 15, 2004

She wraps it up
Licks it end to end
She takes out her lighter
Weed is her only friend

She lights up and breathes in
As a world of mystery starts to appear
Now that she's high
There is nothing to fear

Done with that one
Now to another
There is no more left
Taken away by her mother

The physiatrist comes once a week
Why did she start?
Where would it end?
The emotional damage this did to her heart

She doesn't know if she answers
She doesn't really care
Just wishing she could be anywhere
Anywhere but there

Going into depression
The last and final stage
Because anything is, better
Than being locked up in a cage
