The lake

by Shona   Oct 19, 2004

And so here I am - lying so still in the soft grass staring up at the night skies above me. The gentle summer breeze blows over my tired and worn body as I breathe in the lonely sounds of the night. the strains of laughter come floating up towards me as another wave of sorrow crashes over me like the waves on the beach below. So this is what its like to hurt, what it's like to feel alone. The only too familliar feeling. The barrier of solitude around me keeps me so close to them, yet reaching out I still fall... Miles away.
