The past

by Shona   Oct 26, 2004

The past is like a tidal wave, Flooding us with memories.
And you my friend, worlds apart With no conection.
Today is one of those days that I miss you,
Subtle things trigger the hurt and loss I feel when I think of you.
Back to times when I was too carefree to understand what was going on.
Back to those times of hurt and betrayal when you made it better.
Back to that chilly night when you were ripped from my grasp.
I can't even remember that last time I saw your face,
Felt your presence, laughed at our stupid jokes.
We didn't know it was goodbye, we didn't know it would end this way.
