Me and the Heart You Set Free

by Unseen Exposure   Oct 19, 2004

Let me drift through your thoughts
Because you’re swimming in mine
I want so much to hold you
And leave this all behind

I don’t know what you’re thinking
But I hope somewhere there‘s me
When I close my eyes at night
You’re the only thing I see

Your face is seemingly bright,
And your cheeks are glowing red,
Your image has embedded itself,
So carelessly in my head

Your perfect figure sways by
I smell the scent of your cologne
And for the first time in my life
I know I’m no longer alone

Your words touch me in places
No one else could ever reach
And you have taught me lessons
That no one else could teach

You’ve opened up my mind
And let the real me shine through
Guided my every step
I love the little things you do

It’s the way you say “You’re beautiful”
It’s the way you say “Don’t change”
It’s the way you say “I care for you
And I won’t ever go away”

The comfort that you fill me with
Has brought these two eyes to tears
Never have I been so appreciated
Not once in all these years

You care the way no other does
You see me for who I am
And when I lose all hope in life
You take a stand and say “You can”

It’s because of you that I believe
In myself and follow my soul
It’s you that made me feel
Alive and finally whole

And even though you’ve left me
I thank you with every heart’s beat
Because I know without you
I would have suffered from pain’s defeat

So I’m on these two knees
And my hands are in the air
As I send these words to you
Through God in form of prayer

I know that you won’t listen
And that’s okay with me
I just need you to know you’re importance
And the heart that you set free…

... I'm not really sure who it's about. It sort of switched around a couple of times, so I guess it's about a few people.
