Sliver

by FTS Miles   Oct 24, 2004

She is a sliver of pale
in the shadows and sheets,
a morsel of motive melancholy
hinting in the halflight
at all the many masks
she has donned in our acquaintance.
A kiss, then, before I part anon
to begin another laborious day
without her.
