This Is Me!

by Restless Envy   Oct 27, 2004

I stare at the uniform I’m supposed to be,
But deep down inside I know its not me.
People see, began to judge,
And then hold their grudge.
They don’t even realize how much trouble we go through,
And they don’t even know the whole truth.
We are here to make the world a better place,
Yet people see us as enemies and spit in our face.
We risk our lives for total strangers,
We walk into unknown, clear, and present dangers.
So many men and women risked their lives,
And have left behind their children, husbands and wives.
For those who have a heavy doubt,
Be afraid for we are proud.
So many crimes are committed,
But we aren’t going to stand around and let them be permitted.
Under our uniforms we are all the same,
But then unique in our own little way.
Just normal people out on a run,
Having our fun.
We do what is right. to change our city,
Show those we catch no pity.
This is who I am,
For those who hate me I don’t give a damn
I look back at the uniform I am supposed to be,
And realize this is really me!
