Where Were You

by John Holley   Nov 3, 2004

I was there by your side
To help you get through
But when I looked to my side
Tell me, where were you
To make you happy
There's nothing I wouldn't do
But whenever I was sad
Tell me, where were you
I was your doctor
Whenever you had the flu
But whenever I sneezed
Tell me, where were you
I washed your clothes
And ironed them too
But when I needed help
Tell me, where were you
When your life fell apart
I became your glue
But when I needed a fix
Tell me, where were you
I made them see things
From your point-of-view
But when I needed support
Tell me, where were you
You didn't like my friends
So I gave up the whole crew
But when i needed a friend
Tell me, where were you
When I grabbed that gun
And my brains I blew
'Cause you were never there
Tell me, where were you
