Windows Of Time

by Lipton   Nov 6, 2004

Have you ever tried, to hide the pains of the past?
To forget that they're there, and to continue on?
It seems so easy as time moves so fast,
Even in a different place, they should be lost to oblivion,
But even so, old memories, in dreams manifest,
And in life I see the patterns repeated,
Nightmares ever plague me, ridding me of my rest,
Breaking through my inhibitions, as my mind is impeded.

Looking through the Windows of Time,
I see a soul, I wish wasn't mine.
Looking through the Windows of Time,
The Painful memories, instilled on my mind.
Crying to stop the pain,
My tears falling like incessant rain.

It seems so futile, to fight these things,
As when I try, I just break down and cry.
How cruel the past can be! What pain it brings!
Is this my curse? To be forever traumatized?
I've tried so hard, to keep the curtains pulled,
To keep the past out, and me out of its light,
I've tried to keep the rest of the world fooled,
By covering up a Window of Time.

Looking through the Windows of Time,
I see a soul I wish wasn't mine.
Looking through the Windows of Time,
The painful memories, instilled on my mind.
Crying to stop the pain,
My tears falling, like incessant rain.

I've cried myself dry, and still, there are tears,
I'm begging for mercy to forget the past years,
To look to the future, with anticipation,
To hope in that time, there will be some elation.

Looking through the Windows of Time,
I see a soul, in the future, Divine,
Looking through the Windows of Time,
Hoping to lose the fears trapped inside.
Looking through the Windows of Time,
I see a soul, in the future, Divine,
Looking through the Windows of Time,
Hoping to lose the fears trapped inside.
Pulling down the shade, and the curtains as well,
I can finally leave, that nightmarish Hell.

Pulling down the shade... over the Window of Time...
Pulling the curtain... over the Window of Time...
Breaking through... the Window of Time...
Breaking through... breaking through... the Window of Time...

Nefariously beautiful. You script a pretty macabre tale. I can even smell the faint scent of the blood-stained glass cascading to the floor.......
