Dear Diary

Dear Diary,

Diary, guess what? I have to go away!
Mom and Dad told me I'll have a new place to stay.
They say that it's a really beautiful place,
And when I see it, I'll get a big smile on my face!
I'm really nervous diary!
Tell me why it must be me!
Mommy says I get to bring Teddy.
And Daddy says I must get ready.
I'm leaving so soon Diary, why is this so?
I have too much stuff to bring when I go!
I want to see Daddy, but he seems to be gone.
Mommy yells for him to hurry, I don't have too long.
Diary, who's that strange man with my dad?
And why do they both look so sad?
What has that man said to my mom?
She's started to cry, she's no longer calm!
Diary, what's happening to me?
Why my parents are so sad, I just can't see!
They keep saying, "We love you sweetheart,
You'll always be in our hearts."
I am going to come home sometime right?
I'll only be gone for maybe a night?
Diary, I'm starting to get so weak.
I'm oh so tired... sleep I seek.
I'm closing my eyes, I hear Mommy cry.
I'm going to the new place! I feel like I can fly!
I hear the strange man say, "The cancer is too strong.
I'm sorry to you both, but it won't be that long."
Diary, what's this cancer he talks about?
It makes Mommy cry, it makes Daddy shout!
Diary, I don't understand what's going on!
I'm so scared... I should think of my favourite song!
They better have toys for a girl of only seven.
Well Diary, I hope I like the new place... Daddy called it heaven.
