Voices

She wanted to be skinny,
Just wanting to be pretty,
She only saw herself as fat,
Her reflection, too ugly to look at.

Voices whisper in her mind,
Controlling her every thought,
Telling her, she's ugly and fat,
She's not worth living.

They haunt her dreams,
Saying she has to lose weight,
She should be like the other girls,
attractive and thin.

So at night, she sticks her fingers down her throat,
Starving herself during the day,
She's becoming weak and tired,
All she does is sleep.

She abuses herself,
Trying to kill the voices,
They are driving her insane,
Causing her, too much pain.

Now she looks in the mirror,
All she see's is skin and bone,
Her eyes sunken and glazed,
Fragile skin covered in bruises.

It's then, she's realizes,
Just how thin and pretty, she use to be,
After seeing how ugly she became,
Only having a little voice to blame.
